The Saints of the Athonite School – Saint indirectly associated with the Monastery

Also to be included among the saints of the Vatopaidi Monastery are those of the Athonias – the Athonite School – given that this school, originally sited near the Monastery, was subject to its spiritual supervision. Among the better-known saints of the Athonias are St Cosmas of Aetolia, St Athanasios of Paros, St Makarios Notaras, Bishop of Corinth, St Athanasios the Martyr from Koulakia, Thessaloniki, and St Nikodimos the Athonite.
