- The old monastery of Saint Dionysios on Olympus.
The holy monastery was founded by Saint Dionysios as Patriarchal and Stavropegic and dedicated to the Holy Trinity as a result of divine revelation.
It later became more commonly known by the name of its founder.
On 29 April one year, the Thursday after Easter, infantry detachments of German soldiers climbed up to the monastery and blew it up with explosives.
At the entrance to the monastery, in a drum above the door, a wall-painting survives, depicting Saint Dionysios.
Saint Dionysios created a monument of rare architectural and aesthetic quality, blending perfectly into its natural surroundings.
The wings of the buildings and those of the Holy Monastery, together with the protecting tower, complete the wonderful architecture.
The main church is a Byzantine-style inscribed cross, of the Athonite type.
The ground level of the north wing housed the refectory and the kitchen, while on the first floor there were cells and two chapels.
