Painful progression

At the beginning of repentance the dominant feeling is one of sorrow, but we soon see that the energy of a new life is entering us, one which produces an amazing alteration of the mind. This movement towards repentance appears as the discovery of the God of love. The magnificent image of the First-Created is delineated more clearly before our spirit. Gazing upon this beauty, we discover the terrible distortion that the Creator’s initial plan for us has suffered within us. The grace of repentance reveals to us the image of the Son of God. What a painful process this is.
