This is why it’s better to equip children with moral and spiritual weapons from infancy, when they’re still in control of themselves and free of commitments and passions… Because those who decide to follow the path of spiritual effort at the end of their life spend the whole of their time trying to wash away the sins of the past and this takes up all their attention. And even then they don’t manage to rectify their state and they leave this world with the remnants of their spiritual wounds. But those who begin the struggle from childhood don’t spend their time doing this, nor are they concerned with the healing of wounds, but they take their reward early on… And they always remain steadfast and true to their principles.
