They’re unsubstantial

20 July 2023

The heart of an unbeliever isn’t any longer filled with the infinite, but becomes increasingly cramped; it seeks and desires but is never satisfied. This is because worldly pleasures are unsubstantial and can’t fill the vacuum in the heart. When the pleasures and entertainments of the world fade they leave a deposit of bitterness in the heart. Empty glories are accompanied by sorrows.
