Dedication

Every Athonite foundation is dedicated to the memory of the saint or of the religious feast (of the Lord or of the Mother of God) to which its main church is dedicated. In the earliest surviving relative records, Vatopaidi is mentioned as dedicated to the Annunciation of the Theotokos, a dedication still preserved to the present day
