Αn Olympic Winner dedicates his medal to The Mother of God
4 April 2013Ilias Iliadis, Winner of Olympic bronze, dedicates his medal to The Mother of God our Comfort.
On the afternoon of 27 March, the Olympic medallist Ilias Iliadis visited the Holy Monastery of Vatopaidi where he had a meeting with Elder Efraim, the Abbot of the Monastery, during the course of which he gave the Abbot his medal to hang with the other offerings on the wonder-working icon of The Mother of God our Comfort.
In judo at the XXX Olympic Games in London in 2012, Iliadis won the bronze medal, which he had pledged to dedicate to The Mother of God our Comfort.
The Olympic medallist is now preparing for the European Championships in judo, which will take place in Budapest on 25-27 April 2013. We wish him all the best for the gold!
