ridiculous Egotism is an absurd passion which is a real scourge of the whole of the human race. Everybody suffers from this terrible disease. Egotism makes a mockery of people and they become a laughing-stock. God calls upon us to fight this egotism, to defeat it, to free ourselves of it.
