Elder Ephraim’s condition stable, no deterioration reported

For the sixth successive day, Elder Efraim, the Abbot of the Holy and Great Monastery of Vatopaidi is on intubation in the ICU of the Evangelismos Hospital in Athens. According to the medical team treating him, his condition is now stable and there has been no deterioration.

The Elder was admitted to hospital on 28 May and on 30 May it was deemed necessary that he be moved to the ICU.

On June 4, the doctors decided it was necessary to intubate him because of complications due to underlying medical pre-conditions.

Despite these complications, his condition has remained stable,
