We know very well that some of the great saints, the greatest, in fact, were such sinners that, when you read their lives today, they horrify you. Saint Mary the Egyptian, Saint Pelagia, the robber and so many others were terrible sinners. But this is where God shows his power: he can make saints out of the greatest sinners.
