It’s offered as a gift

We people are potentially persons. Our completion as persons, which is the purpose of our existence, is achieved through our elevation to the uncreated archetype. This elevation is offered to us as a gift by God the Word, through his incarnation. The authentic human being is revealed in the person of Christ.
