Brighter than gold

The holy blood of Christ, of which we partake, refreshes the soul and gives it great strength. When we take communion worthily, it drives the demons far away and brings the angels, as well as the King of the angels, close to us. This blood is the salvation of our souls; the soul is washed and adorned with it. It makes our mind brighter than a fire and more gleaming than gold.
