Humble people consider themselves sinful, good for nothing and contemptible. Yet they’re able to touch snakes as if they were mere locusts. When they approach other people, the latter pay attention to them as if they were the Lord himself. Even the wickedness of the demons withers before humble people. This is the majesty of humility and its power, which the saints receive.
