We’re in exile

Our life is sorrow because we’re in exile. Don’t seek perfect repose. Christ took up his cross and we must do the same. If we bear our sorrows, we will find grace in the Lord. This is why the Lord allows us to be tempted, in order to test the zeal and love we have for him. This is why we need fortitude. Without fortitude people don’t become effective, don’t learn about spiritual things, and don’t reach the measure of virtue and perfection.
