Fond Memories of the Feast of Saint Yerasimos Palladas
With all due Byzantine magnificence, the Feast of Saint Yerasimos Palladas, Patriarch of Alexandria (1630-1714) was celebrated at the Holy and Great Monastery of Vatopaidi
Presiding at the Feast was Pope and Patriarch Theodoros II of Alexandria. His All Holiness Vartholomaios, Ecumenical Patriarch, spiritual father and overlord of the Holy Mountain, was represented by Metropolitan Apostolos of Miletus
The representative of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem was Bishop Filoumenos of Pella. Epifanios, Bishop of Lidra and Abbot of the Monastery of Makhaira represented the Church of Cyprus
In the entourage of the Patriarch of Alexandria were Metropolitans Alexios of Carthage and Nikiforos of Central Africa. Also assisting at the celebrations was the venerable Bishop Chrysostomos of Rodostolos
The Holy Community of Mount Athos was represented by Elder Nikodimos of Ayiou Pavlou, while almost all the Monasteries on the Holy Mountain sent representatives
Present from Karyes were Fr. Ioakeim Varakhniotis and Fr. David Kareotis, the priests who serve in the Protaton
Priest in charge of the service was Hieromonk Ignatios Riganas and the canonarch was Fr. Palladios of the Skete of Saint Panteleïmon
The choirs were joined by Fathers Daniil and Stefanos from the Daniileï brotherhood, Fr. Damaskinos from New Skete, Hieronmonk Antypas from Karyes, Fr. Iosif from Vigla, Fr. Spyridon from Little Saint Ann’s and Yeoryios Konstantinou
