The inauguration of the first church in Greece dedicated to Saint Porfyrios Kavsokalyvitis was performed by His All-Holiness Bartholomew, the Ecumenical Patriarch.
The Ecumenical Patriarch arrived at the newly-built church after the end of the Divine Liturgy on the morning of Sunday, 4 October, 2015, at the Metropolitan Church of Saint Paraskevi, Langada.
At the Inauguration Ceremony, a special place was accorded to the holy icons which had been brought by refugees from their ancestral homelands in Asia Minor and the Black Sea region.
