In Tripoli, two Hierarchs celebrate the Divine Liturgy in the presence of the Holy Girdle
In a splendid setting, attended by a host of the faithful, a Divine Liturgy was celebrated on 21/10/2018 in the Cathedral of Saint Vasileios, in Tripoli. Two Metropolitans presided and the Holy Girdle of the Mother of God was displayed for veneration.
The Divine Liturgy was celebrated by Metropolitan Alexandros, the local hierarch of Mantineia and Kynouria and he was flanked by Bishop Chrysanthos of Kernitsa and Abbot Efraim of the Holy and Great Monastery of Vatopaidi, as well as other Athonite fathers, and priests from the Metropolis.
Before the Dismissal, Metropolitan Alexandros awarded Abbot Efraim the Great Cross of the Patron Saints of Tripolis, Dimitrios and Pavlos, and presented him with a pectoral cross as a gift.
Elder Efraim thanked the Metropolitan for the honour and the gift, and noted that the presence of the Holy Girdle in Tripolis would represent a historic event for the local Church of Arcadia and its people.
