He was born in Corfu in 1940. He studied Literature and Theology at the University of Athens. In 1969 he did postgraduate studies at the universities of Bon and Cologne in Germany. In 1971 he joined the priesthood in Germany, while later on he received PhD’s in Theology and Philosophy-History.
In 1984 he started teaching at the University of Athens. He also became the Dean of the School of Theology until his retirement in 2007.
He continues with his ministerial duties at the university chapel of St Antypas in Athens.
